A Letter from the President: Samantha Forrest

Winter is Coming but MSPCA Forges Forward!

Dear MSPCA Members,

As we stand on the threshold of a new season and anticipate the unique challenges and opportunities it brings, I extend a heartfelt greeting to all of you.

With the arrival of fall, and winter following right behind its heels, our industry faces distinct challenges that underscore the importance of the Maryland State Pest Control Association's strength and unity. Rest assured that our association is steadfast in its commitment to providing you with the resources, support, and knowledge needed to navigate the pest control landscape, regardless of the weather.

Remember, as we head into fall and winter, keep an eye out for rodents seeking shelter, overwintering pests infiltrating structures, and increased activity from wildlife. Maintain vigilance against cockroach infestations and monitor stored product areas. Don't forget about year-round termite inspections too, they do not just disappear in winter. Dress appropriately for weather conditions, communicate effectively with clients, prioritize safety, and stay up to date with training to ensure we continue providing excellent pest control services.

I am thrilled to share an exciting lineup of events and initiatives for our members in the upcoming months, including:

Upcoming Western Maryland Training Webinar: Register now for this half-day training program designed specifically for our members in Western Maryland, but benefits us all as we continue a virtual format. This virtual event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 9, 2023. We will be covering various topics and providing insights that will be invaluable for your pest control operations. As we look towards our December meeting, we welcome you to come join us in-person for a time of fellowship with local PMPs and to also consider joining the board. We are currently looking for individuals to fill the following roles: Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Please reach out to me directly, if you are interested in joining the board.

We extend our biggest THANK YOU for your unwavering support and dedication to our association. Together, we can overcome any challenges that the changing seasons may bring and continue to provide exceptional pest control services to our clients.

Should you have any suggestions, questions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our dedicated team or myself. Your feedback is invaluable in our continuous efforts to enhance our services and better serve our members.
